Soul and form - the song of the bagpipe
"The Atelier"
You will encounter a lifelike artistic representation of a bagpipe-maker's studio in the museum. The exhibit aims to immerse you in crafting the instrument, offering a sense of the master's presence.
The display reconstructs the environment where the manual instrument is created, arranged chronologically to depict the stages of production. This includes salting the skin for the bag, shearing, washing, and drying, as well as woodworking and assembling the bagpipe.
The Wall of 333 "Kaba" Bagpipes
The installation is a compilation of the names of all bagpipe players who participated in setting the Guinness record at a major event in 2012 at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.
The names are arranged in a mosaic pattern, similar to the small pieces of leather used to make bagpipes. The mosaic surrounds a portrait of Apostol Kisyov.
This portrait is a powerful expression of gratitude and admiration for the unifier and teacher, whose persona inspires the museum's creation.
3D Hertz Sculpture
The three-dimensional hanging sculpture is made of bagpipe parts hung on strings, visually forming the sound wave of the instrument in a cylinder.
The installation presents innovative and sentimental information about the exhibits, while the arrangement simultaneously depicts the visual image of the sound in the air.
"Space Sounds" Installation
The installation will introduce you to the theory of the cosmic impact of the bagpipe as an instrument.
Surrounding you will be stereo sounds demonstrating the connection between the bagpipe and the natural sounds of the planets. Inside a separate "dark" room, you will have an immersive experience of the Universe accompanied by experimental sounds.
You will explore the connection between the bagpipe and our human nature and may feel a trance effect, experiencing calmness and a surge of new sensations and emotions.
